Default Stupid passenger window problem, can’t use it :(

Whenever you roll down the passenger window, its like it’s not using the maximum power only using a little and when you roll it back up same thing but it has some kind of sticky black material. It spreads all over the whole window haha. The driver window also uses only a little power but there’s no material at all. The reason for the slowness is because I think there’s something slowing it down, and plus it’s like it uses only a little power, not using the maximum power therefore it is slow and speed is irregular slightly. The sunroof is fine both windows are slow which are not much of a problem but the black material is. It’s a coupe and so far I can only use the sunroof and the driver window. It sucks to not be able to use the passenger window.

I believe its the felt lining on the molding, You can try sourcing one from a donor car but its kind of attached to the door panel, but there is tools you can buy to remove the molding from the door panel. Hope that helps.

I had the same thing happen to me on a ‘98 LX. The heat and old age made the rubber disentegrate and melt slightly. Once I removed that piece of plastic trim/insulation then the window worked fine. Then there is a small gap in between the door panel and the window so it lets more air in, but I didn’t really mind.
To get rid of the rubber streaks on the window I just used rubbing alcohol. It took like 20 minutes to get all the rubber off.
If your windows continue to work slowly it might just be a weak motor on that window. I’d just keep using it until it doesn’t work at all any more.

Yeah it must be really old now. i feel like its not a weak motor though, sometimes the speed is irregular and if nothing is blocking it from rolling up or down it'll go slightly faster. That makes me think its the window channel, weatherstrip or both, whatever it is haha but thank you for the help and the alcohol tip!
