I'm new to tuning and I got a car thats already tuned and I'm wondering if I can just view the tune thats already on the ecu or do I need a copy of the tune files. Sorry if this is a Newby question I just don't have another car to experiment with so I haven't been able to get experience with any tuning software. Any advice is appreciated like I said I've never been able to try it. I've read lots and watch many videos but everyone just sets up a base map and data logs on their own tune I just want to see whats already there.

 

First step is to identify what ECU you have and what it was tuned with.
Then you would have to have a buy the associated hardware and software in order to plug in to the ECU's data and view it on your computer. Some tuners will have the data locked and you will not be able to view it or download it to your laptop.

I figured it out it was tuned on crome. I converted it to hts just to see what it was like and turned out to be running way rich so I just put the old tune back and will be experimenting on another car without a turbo
