Default CKP code is being thrown and idk why

I have a 1995 Honda civic DX with a 1.5 non VTech. It's throwing the crank position sensor code. Idk why because it has a new distributor and a new ecu. Is it possibly the wiring between the ecu and the distributor?

Try another distributor... and don't use one of the junk NEW ones you get from EBay, Amazon or your local Auto Parts Store. Try a known good FACTORY one from another Civic.

Do you know what could cause it to go bad?

It is 27 years old and has gotten really hot about 50,000 times. If what you have is a cheap aftermarket one... consider yourself lucky if it worked more than a month. I have seen MANY of them bad right out of the box.

True but the one I got is 250usd brand new and worked fine then the speed sensor had some problems and then I had a bad lockup solenoid and stuff so maybe that caused it so I think imma buy a cheap one off of Amazon and see if that does the trick

None of those issues have anything to do with the distributor... nor would they affect the distributor and cause it to fail. Again, these are all failures because the parts are OLD. Once replaced with new OEM parts, you can be confident that you won't see problems out of these same parts for many years to come.

I am not suggesting that $250 is a small chunk of change, but just to keep your purchase in perspective... a Genuine OE Honda Distributor would have cost more than THREE TIMES THAT when you could purchase one complete... now you have to piece one together and you would still be short a coil wire... and it would still cost you almost $700.00.
