I just bought this 2002 Honda Civic LX. I don’t have all the knowledge about cars, but I do have the basics down. When I bought it, I was told the car just Needed a fan. When I went to see the car I can tell it needed just a little bit more work, so I ended up talking the guy down to a lower price. I do plan on flipping this car so I want to make as much profit as possible. I inspected the car to the best of my knowledge and with the help of YouTube. Turned out the fan works perfectly fine. However I ran the codes and found a code for the catalytic converter and the 02 sensor. (Note: I don’t recall what the codes are, the battery of the car ended up going out and I haven’t been able to get the exact codes back yet) when I inspected the car I noticed a crack in the exhaust manifold. That lead me to assume that is why both codes came up. I guess I say all this to ask if I am correct? If so, I know that means I would have to replace the manifold. I live in California, so does anyone know where I can get this part from that is California legal and affordable? Or is this even worth spending the money and time? I bought the car for $820 plus a $40 battery. So I’m currently $860 in. Other than the issues listed, the car runs fine. However the biggest downer of this all is that it’s a salvage title with 229,000 miles.
