Just purchased a sweet little car for my sons graduation present. 98 civic hatchback. Black amd has racing bucket seats.. ya I spoil him but I like working on cars amd brings us together in the shop. I found out it’s got the JDM 98 spec b18c ITR, bolt on mods on engine and the suspension done too !
The seller had no idea what it had in it other than swapped from an integra. I got a better deal than I thought originally after I did my research !

have A couple questions and hope to find some advice from anyone who’s experienced with a civic amd swapped ITR.
first off, the heater core was removed as well as AC.
cold isn’t important however, heat is a must!
Eh ! we live in Canada !! I read that some people take them out to give more engine cooling ??? Haha maybe in Texas !
Would it very difficult to put an AC pump back on amd have it all working again with this engine ? I have a civic donor car with ac bit it’s a 2005 and non-vtec.
the power mirrors just have wires hanging inside the cab, looking like deliberately disconnected, is that a thing folks do or ??
The horn doesn’t work because has a momo removable steering wheel, not sure if it is broken takenout /disconnected or just not hooked up.. hmm that needs fixed.
Window seals on the doors are completely gone, the bottom rubbers/seal seem disappearing
i have lots of questions obviously, I’m pretty decent with stuff but I’m hoping for help so me and my son can make this a really fun and rewarding project. I want the car to run good, amd be reliable and safe. I like to be in the know of what’s next to do and how.
the car hasn’t been on the road for over a year, leaves amd debris under the hood with pine cones amd needles in all the cracks n crevices, scum and a film setting on the paint and engine bay, but all clean now.
so far, I’ve ordered the following:
-new struts all around which it needs very bad. (skunk2) car was bouncing along on springs and oil all over obviously the D2 coil overs are toast !
-top quality wires n plugs (ngk 7)
-timing belt w/water pump, (gates)
-valve cover gasket
I’m thinking valve check adjustment in near future
motor has 120,000 km. and according to the seller since 50 thou, hasn’t had timing belt or plugs changed.
it runs amd sounds decent, seems to go really good when throttle down hard, but no insurance to test much until new struts n tires get put on. Next week.

too many questions... one at a time. AC would not be hard to get back in but you'd need all the parts. I believe the AC pump and engine mount would have to be from an integra, the rest could most likely be from any 94-00 integra or 92-00 civic. You'd also need the AC controls for the interior which could mean swapping controls if yours doesn't have AC controls already. same with heater core. Are you sure the core is gone and not just disconnected? The core is real easy to disconnect when the engine is out so the actual core might still be in the car, under the front dash.
