Ok so i want to do a d15b vtec swap in my 1991 honda civic dx hatch its all stock with a d15b7 (obd0/dpfi) rn i want know if i can use my existing harness for the d15b vtec swap and how i would wire up the vtec and also would like a parts or list of things that i would need that would be helpful to the swap to make it easier.

You will need to go MPFI first, the DPFI harness will not work. You can then decide if you want to swap the entire engine or just swap over the VTEC head and go from there.

 

My grandson bought a 91 DX Hatchback with a D15B Vtec swap. It has the stock auto trans and they kept the DPFI. It runs but surges and will not go over 2500 RPM. What do we need to do to straighten it out? Do we need a new Computer and wiring harness, distributor? I was able to solve the surge issue it looks like it was the timing belt was off 1 tooth. Still has the wrong distributor. I saw a post on doing the MPFI swap and the wiring changes needed. I guess that is the next step. But the parts list refers to an SI. The motor is a VTEC D15B. Will the wiring and parts be the same or do we need the parts specific for that engine?
