I have a 2000 Honda Accord 5 spd. I can’t rev over 4K. Idk what it could be but when it hits 4K it kinda sputters?

 

Engine light on? Is this occur while driving or in neutral?

 

I think you talk about rpm?

In case of the Rpm you might want to think of changing to a new larger rims perhaps 19" then it can save a little bit more miles every circle circulation

as it best use of power and rpm from the engine

@Shaggymo What have you done ti diagnose thus far? 4k sounds like one of those numbers where you might have a VTECH issue, often a bad vtec solenoid can cause this. You could also have the car in a limp home mode. Have you scanned the car and read any errors that might be in the ECU? That would be very helpful.

If you want to take a look at the vtec solenoid, it's often the gasket that has failed, so check that first, but the solenoid can also go bad, but you might get lucky and replace a gasket, clean it out and it could be what the trouble is.
