CDM ITR guage cluster is at 000000 miles...w/ 7 pics
i reseted my guage cluster today. i have a fresh motor going in so that is why i did it. this is not intended for odo fraud. here are some pics.
you must take one side of the bar that runs across the top and lift it a bit so the gears are loose. it runs through the gears, the tricky part is making sure the gears line up straight when snaping the bar back in place.
this is the final profuct, now all i need to do is calibrate the speedo whenever i get the car running

Although many people believe that mileage reflects the motor, the odometer reflects the mileage of the chassis. You will devalue your car if it ever gets reported to the DMV. Cars with tampered odometers, regardless of the cause, are considered to be of no value. Just write down or remember the mileage that you put your motor in and you will save yourself a lot of headache in the future. But you are welcome to do what you like.
even with a fresh motor in the car, that is still odometer fraud, 'cause the rest of your car has that mileage. i was lucky enough to be able to swap my motor in with exactly the same mileage on it that my car had at the time.
Good how-to on calibrating mileage though. We bought an Si cluster for my wife's car and had to adjust the mileage down. Had my friend who is a Honda mechanic do it.

This sounds like a pretty dumb queston, but say you had smaller than stock wheels on your car and you wanted to sell it, so you calculated out how many extra miles the tires put on your car and set the odometer to what it should be, that wouldn't be odometer fraud, would it?
