Default WG vacuum source - Manifold or compressor housing?

I currently have my BOV, WG and boost gauge T'd off the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line (I know not great). Im in the process of redoing most of my turbo setup and want to fix some of the half *** stuff.

Should I do a vacuum block off the brake booster or should I run the WG off of the turbo compressor housing? I have no issue with tapping it to do so and this would require the shortest run of vacuum hose.

At this point in time it seems like a lot of work to install a vacuum block for these 3 items when one could be moved to the compressor housing. Thoughts?

Picture of my current setup for fun. I am running same turbo but replaced manifold, wastegate, dump tube, down pipe and oil return line.

On setups that are sensitive to boost creep, tapping into the intake manifold can be beneficial. Getting the WG signal from the compressor housing and referencing boost from the intake manifold (boost controller/map sensor) can create a boost offset due to the pressure loss through the intercooler and charge piping. In this instance it can promote boost creep if the setup is sensitive to it.

I have personally run both manifold and compressor housing sources and not experienced negatives with either but my setup always had good wastegate capacity.

^This. The dynamic efficiency of the intercooler makes the boost slightly drop over rpm if you get the compressor housing as a WG source.
Imo its better overal spot because you can get very short line which is allways beneficial.

I, too, have used either vacuum source and found no noticeable difference. I'm currently using the compressor and have no boost creep issues.

OP, if anything, upgrade your motor mounts even if the current ones are "fine".

Thanks for the advise guys, I appreciate it. Im probably overthinking this.

Yeah motor mounts are next on the list, not sure what stiffness Hasport mounts to go with. Car is strictly a street car that never sees the drag strip, the suspension is set up for backroads. Rigth now TQ mounts are filled and there is an insert in the rear mount.

The car will be getting completely disassembled after this summer for rebuild including paint, interior etc. and will be done at that time. Car goes in to be tuned on the 18th so we will see what it makes!

People think one method is better than another but I've never seen it.

I have Innovative mounts and they hold up fine. Less expensive than Hasport for the same quality.

Mine will be retuned this upcoming Friday. Wish me luck. Previously was making 324HP--265tq. I'm hoping for 450+. LOL

Good luck! Ive never had a car on a dyno before, always had a friend street tune so interested to see what it makes. I think ill be happy with anything close to 300whp

Mounts are highly important, yeah. Keep that engine where it needs to be on the dyno!

Go 62A durometer for the motor mounts on a street car.

Good luck, @NVturbo . I think I'm going to move to a bigger turbo and retune later this summer and am hoping for 400+.

Well fellas, a little bit of bad news.

I didn't hit 400HP Friday. Was able to get 349 HP~ 246 TQ @ 18psi. However, now the cold start issue is resolved and it's NASTY on 4th gear. Night and day difference from original tune last year.
