EH9 Auto to Manual Questions
I'm looking to clear up some confusion I have about swapping my 94 civic Ex sedan from auto to manual, this would be my first big project and something I've been anticipating / dreading for a while now so if you have an answer please be as descriptive as possible, also if you have links or pictures please link them. also understand im a *beginner* so I don't know everything, ill also probably end up updating this thread with questions as I encounter new problems
Im going to swap a b000 s40 6th gen trans onto my d16z6
- Does anyone have a link to a comprehensive wiring guide for my EH9 or something close? ill need a guide for all the wiring (back up lights, pedals, ignition switch, brake lights, etc.)
- I pulled eg hardlines (the ones that wrap around the whole engine bay) should I buy ek lines since I have a 6th gen trans?
- I pulled and eg inspection plate for the trans but realized it matches weird with my ek trans, should I pull an ek inspection plate or will the eg work? (remember im using an eg motor)
- will the bolts that mount my auto transmission work on mounting the manual one? also do ek transmission mounting bolts differ when compared to eg mounting bolts?
- I bought an eg starter but have an ek trans, is this a problem?
- I heard that I have to buy a new intake manifold specific for manual cars because of an idle controller? is this only for 6th gens?
- I should be able to use 6th gen flywheel bolts right?
- I bought a 6th gen shift linkage after i heard its basically the same as an eg shift linkage, is this a problem?
- Will I get a check engine light if I turn my ecu from auto to manual? will it run fine? (cutting the two resistors and bridging(?) them)
- will the connectors on my manual trans hook up to the auto harness?
- do I have to change my throttle body? and what about the cruise control cable?
edit:
- do I have to buy the manual rear transmission mount? (the one that connects to the T bracket(?)
im most worried about the electrical stuff so as many guides that yall can throw at me for that the better off ill be hopefully

I'd get that manual t-bracket to subframe mount for sure in addition to the bracket and mount that mounts the transmission to the frame rail.
Also, be sure to get the all the clutch hard lines that go from your clutch master cylinder to the rubber line at the transmission.
I would be able to make you a jumper to plug in where your automatic stuff plugs in under the shifter console for a decent price if you'd like some peace of mind, but the wiring isn't that difficult. I think there was a write up on all of it.

Either will work. Therefore what you have is fine.

Do the bolt holes match up? If so you'll be fine.

You may have a problem with your aftermarket transmission mount adapter on the right side: I found one bolt was too short out of three. I left it off for now.
You definitely need the MT front trans bracket, you can't reuse the AT one here.
The bolts that mount the trans against the engine should all be the same.
I recommend you confirm part numbers to check for differences (different p/n means a different part ..... but not always! Might be a superceded p/n only but the part is identical) using a Honda parts website.
- I bought an eg starter but have an ek trans, is this a problem?
Identical. I've even heard that an AT starter can be used on MT but never tried.
- I heard that I have to buy a new intake manifold specific for manual cars because of an idle controller? is this only for 6th gens?
Only for 6th.
- I should be able to use 6th gen flywheel bolts right?
Probably but check the p/n against one another.
- I bought a 6th gen shift linkage after i heard its basically the same as an eg shift linkage, is this a problem?
??? Dunno. You heard it from a reputable source?
- Will I get a check engine light if I turn my ecu from auto to manual? will it run fine? (cutting the two resistors and bridging(?) them)
Yeah you can mod your ECU, then it's fine.
- will the connectors on my manual trans hook up to the auto harness?
Yes, the harnesses are actually identical.
- do I have to change my throttle body? and what about the cruise control cable?
No and no. The cruise computer is technically different MT to AT but will function fine and TBH I doubt you'll notice any difference.

I believe you require the EG one here.
