Will an auto EK trans work with an EG?
my bother bottomed out his Eg last night and blew his transmission. been looking around for auto trans but only keep finding EK ones. been doing some research but I can't find anything. anyone ever done it before? is it possible?

Yea. You'll run into problems on a obd2 system. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the problem should only be the ecu. Mechanically, everything should be solid.

It wont work. It'll bolt up, but it wont shift. '92 - '95 trans only has 2 lockup solenoids and a mechanical kickdown cable. '96 - '00 has additional shift solenoids, a main and countershaft speed sensor, and linear solenoid and no kickdown cable.

Nice follow up, I have an auto as well that works fine but I'm planning ahead for an instance where it does go out and I have to replace it. Again, thanks for following up on the issue.
