1.5L sohc timing out (The only problem).

tdc on cam bottom left pointer won't inline, horizontal lines acurate
tdc at compression stroke on the crank.

engine starts up and dies without a chance to idle. Not using a timing light. any suggestions what I could do to correct this in one go? I've gotten so far to where it almost starts and don't want to ruin it again lol.

you don't need a timing gun when you're trying to mechanically set timing.

ALWAYS....set the crank pulley to TDC first before setting the cam gear, not the other way around. That's the common mistake people often do.
