Icon5 Redline MTL for CR-V?

I know there's hundreds of threads talking about what MTF to use, from OEM, Pennzoil, GM Synchromesh, etc. Problem is, many of these threads are really old (some over 10 years), and fluid formulas change with time.

I'm currently using Honda Genuine MTF in my 2001 CR-V, as per owners manual (which seems to imply my car will explode if I use anything else lol). and I find that it works alright at first, but over time it gets pretty notchy, it's only been about 10,000km and it
get's fairly noticeable. I did a partial change of MTF and it got way smoother, but that only lasted about 1000km.

Since the Honda MTF they use now is meant for much newer cars, and it's much thinner than what my V would've taken back in 2001, I'm starting to think it's not ideal for it anymore.

My V's just a daily with 230,000~ km on it, not racing with it (though I do intend to turbo it up sometime soon), and I'd like to get some buttery smooth shifts with it. I'm looking at both Redline MTL and Pennzoil Synchromesh, both I can find locally here in Canada. I can't seem to find any Amsoil anything else easily, so I'd rather stick with those. I'm mainly leaning on Redline because at least the label actually says it meets Honda Genuine MTF spec.

So what's been your long term experience using either in a CR-V? Or 6th Gen Civic? Or Integra? Or any B-Series in general?

Small update, since no one responded I decided to bite the bullet and put Redline MTL in a couple of days ago.

So far, it's been pretty good, before my CR-V shifted fine when cold then got notchy as it heated up. Now it starts slightly notchy (especially in these cold mornings lately), then gets better as it warms up. The notchiness is still there, but there's less resistance going into each gear, my 5th and 2nd gears were the most notchy and saw the best improvement, they go in much more smoothly now. I think this was a good decision, even if it's just placebo effect.

And somehow my steering feels smoother too, I'm not sure why, maybe it really is placebo

Now to see what the long term effects are, for those curious, I'll give an update if the shifting gets noticeably worse, or if my transmission explodes or something.

Sounds like your synchros are wearing.

Redline MTL is great.

I wouldn't doubt that they are, hopefully this stuff keeps them going for a while.
