Default What brake fluid I should be using for my integra

I have a problem with losing clutch pedal and befor you ask its dosent need bleed and no leaks and only happens when it get warm and clutch returns to normal when it cools back down so Could it be the fluid I use because I know they have different heat ratings and I live in vegas so it gets hot. I'm currently use dot 3 should I be useing dot5

Although many use brake fluid as MTL, Manual transmission fluid is best. OEM MTL or GM Synchromesh

I'm talking about clutch line fluid not mt. So there no different heat rating between dot 3 4 or 5 because my car gets so hot driving in 110 degree weather I'm just try to figure out my clutch problem

NEVER use DOT 5 for anything.

Completely flush out all the brake fluid you have in there and refill with normal DOT 3 brake fluid. Bleed the clutch very well.

I think you meant to say, "use DOT 5.1 instead of DOT 5!"

Why? Because like DOT 3/4/5.1 it is Glycol based and is not susceptible to cross-contamination based corrosion like the silicone based DOT 5.

I know you didn't so I offered more info instead of spouting random crap like a looney toon character.

So please explain why DOT5 should not be used.

You provided the correct information however obviously this is not a real tech thread. The OP is asking about using DOT 5 in the clutch system. Just let it go.

Time relevance had nothing to do with my statement. 2 days = 2 years in the world of IoT. But yeah, you do... It's ok. I do too.

OP asked about using DOT3 instead of DOT5 in his clutch system in the Tech/Misc sub-forum of of Honda and Acura Technical Forms. Yes, the OP could have googled "Why is DOT5 bad for clutch systems?" after your posted your "opinion" but you also could have posted a snippet of why it is not recommended. Would you care to enlighten us?

No, OP did not. He asked if he should be using DOT 5 instead of 3. It doesn't matter where he posted the thread. The guy is clueless. I'm done.

So you are saying you do not KNOW why DOT5 should NOT be used in clutch systems?

Hmmmm, this is going sideways.

Most of the guys here are DIYers looking for answers. Some are more informed/experienced than others.

If they seem to have very limited/no experience(I use their question as a basis for my judgement) Then I try to give simple answers or no answer at all,as I have no interest in explaining the fundamentals. Now days any question can be Googled. Some people just dont want to do the leg work......

I see what dee is saying, when someone states to not do something they should followup with why.
