Default Troubleshooting: 2008 civic no fuel pressure - what's the next step?

My 2008 MT civic stalled at start up Thursday. Was able to start car but I had to rev it high to even start moving. No acceleration and eventually stalled and wouldn't restart after 3 miles.

I've confirmed spark, fuel pump engages. I replaced the pump and strainer. Absolutely no fuel in line connecting to fuel rail. There was some fuel that came out of the line connected to the fuel pump when disconnected to inspect the fuel pump a second time.

Could this be a bad fuel pressure regulator? I have no check engine light.

Thanks in advance

Does the vehicle have gas? What is the fuel pressure when measured with a gauge?Did you use a Honda or equivalent fuel pump?

Car has gas. I have no fuel coming through the line prior to the rail. What's weird is I sporadically got the "check gas cap" message. Right before the car stalled and wouldn't restart it popped up again. I feel it's connected to the issue somehow.

i had a turbo 2006 si have a similar issue when I was trying to tune it. The pump would make noise and not pump any gas, ended up being the fuel pump was improperly installed and shot itself out the bottom of the pump hangar. They seal with an o ring and the guy didn’t put the right spacer thing in the hanger to keep the pump in the proper location.

Also just a random idea but you might wanna take the gas cap off and see if it relieves pressure or vacuum from the tank. That would lead to a clogged tank vent.

Could it be as easy as a bad gas cap? There is no pressure when I take it off. It does not allow it to run with the cap off either.

I doubt it. I would start with checking the fuel pump hangar. They are pretty easy to pull

Fuel pump and everything associated with it seem fine and I replaced the regulator. Would a bad crank sensor not throw a code? I have no check engine light on
