Default Ek Civic Engine Harness

Hey guys, first off thanks for everything. The information I've retrieved from this site has helped me immensely with my build.
So my question is, I am currently in the process of wiring in my Vtec portion of this conversion (D16Y7 >D16Y8). I came across a brown plug that is located in the harness just before all the ECU plugs. I just need help identifying exactly what this plug is. its one way, wires go into it but nothing comes out and its taped from factory. I have looked and looked but I see nothing identifying it. It seems that it maybe a grounding plug or maybe for wires that are simply not needed?
Thanks for any info. on this, I do appreciate the help.

Sounds like a ground distribution plug.

What year, model, country, MT/AT?

Pic would help.

Hey thanks for the reply. I'm working on a 98 EK Coupe, Canadian model and its been converted to a 5spd. But I've seen this same plug on the OBD2b harness that I'm stealing from. I stripped the vtec portion from it to wire into my original harness. I ask because the black wire from the knock sensor connected to this mystery plug which lead me to believe it's some kind of ground. I'm more curious than anything regarding this plug.

This little guy lives inside the cabin just above all the ECU plugs. It was taped over by the factory I'm guessing.

It is just a junction connection in the original harness... if it is not damaged or modified... leave it alone and move along. Nothing to see here.

lol, yeah I wasn't gonna monkey around with it. But one of the wires for the knock sensor did go to this plug. This is why my curiosity was peaked. I'll just relocate said wire into into its new home here and quietly step away. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks Tony, do you think I could just leave those out or should I reconnect the new wires to those spots?

What is connected there is the knock sensor shield ground. Only connect what was originally connected there... adding things may create more problems. Whatever wires you need to add, I suggest that they are connected in the same locations as they would be found in a stock harness. If you have questions, feel free to ask.
