Default 2005 Accord Hybrid A/C compressor problem

When A/C is turned on the clutch doesn't turn ON. Relay switch in fuse box under hood is good. Is there a solenoid that triggers clutch to engage? If there is one, could it be it is shot and need to replace? Help please.

What is the charge weight? A low charge can cause this problem.

Pressure/charge 48 PSI, normal level. Is the A/C compressor in Accord hybrid controlled electronically? if so, could it be connection problem?
Thanks!

You need to start with the basics. 48 psi is not a charge weight.

Perhaps a repair shop will be better suited to help you......

Got help from A/C mechanic. First he did bleed and attached vacuum pump to remove all air. I think vacuum was around 29 mm level and stayed at that level for about 30 minutes. With A/C on at low setting he then charged 18.5 oz of R134A. The compressor clutch still din't start. Inside car temperature stayed around 70 F. Appreciate any feedback.

Ok, now we're talking. This system is a little more complex than a typical HVAC system. The compressor is a high voltage unit that is part of the hybrid system. Death can occur. (hopefully your guy used the proper refrigerant oil, otherwise the repairs will be astronomical.)

First, does the blower motor come on at all?

You need a scanner capable of pulling Body or HVAC codes and you need to scan the system.

Then you need to look for the AC request PID and see if there is a request or not.

Don't forget about HVAC diag mode. Should display codes related to the HVAC system. No scanner required.
