I have a JDM 1998 Civic VTI - (LHD - B16a - ABS - 260mm Font Brakes) which comes stock with a 15/16th MC.
Since I have upgraded my front calipers to Wilwood DPHA 4 piston calipers and braided lines all around my brake pedal travel is way to long, even under hard braking pressure the pedal goes almost to floor and i can barely lock the wheels or actuate the abs.
I am looking to upgrade the Master Cylinder and considering which options do I have in order to keep everything else the same?
Apparently for what I found on the forum if I upgrade to a ITR MC I also have to upgrade the booster, is that really needed or I have any other option to just upgrade the MC?
Should I consider a Nissin/OEM one or does Wilwood makes any decent bolt-on replacement?
I’ve got an ITR MC on my 2000 EK with OEM booster.
and which size is that one? 1" ? did you had to modify any lines for it to fit?
Does anyone know the P/N of that one? I assume it is an usdm ITR we are talking about
On the eg civics yes, a line had to be re-bent or a new one had to be made. On the ek it was str8 bolt on.
Thanks tony, so I wont have issues I hope, which/where do you recommend to buy? I checked on acura parts and it seems to be discontinued (oem-new one, and i bet its super expensive), rather than a used one any other suggestion/link on which one to get?

Thanks !!! Centric sounds like a good option, i did a quick search but found both Centric #130-40031 and #130-40033 for ITR, do you happen to know which one ? didnt found any diff honestly.
15/16” from 91 Civic EX is plug & play for 92-95 chassis.
1” from DC2 is plug & play for 96-00 chassis.
Neither requires a booster swap or line mods with that formula, and the difference in pedal feel with your setup negligible. I’d go with whichever is easiest.

Mine is Euro spec. del sol VTi model, equivalent to US Vtec. From factory it has15/16 MC and 262/242 brakes. As I said before, brake calipers and discs have been upgraded, only the MC left stock. But if the difference is so minimal, I would leave it as it is.
I drove my 94 EJ1 with your current setup for years and it was fine. Switched to the 1" when I had to replace the booster and had the lines and the change in feel was barely noticeable. If you're starting with a 13/16", it's a must.
If you're itching for an upgrade for pedal feel, this is it:
Legitimately one of the three best mods I've ever done on a Honda. I daily it and love it. The only downside is that you will end up having to move to the EK/DC master cylinder anyway.
Edit: Actually, snap a picture of your current master cylinder. Del Sols (especially the VTEC/VTi) were more Integra than they were Civic in a lot of ways. You may have the right master cylinder pattern.
I thought the VTI would have the 7/8th MC like the EM1 and Civic EX have in the US?
I did the front brake upgrade, but didnt swap the RSX rears I got from Adam last year and put on the smaller 242 rear calipers on instead and the pedal feels fine in every day driving with the original MC to the car. With the Integra still broken, I really can't compare them yet. (00, ABS + Spoon front + ITR rears)
