I just got a 1990 Civic Wagon and the speedo and odometer don't work but everything else on the cluster works. After about 10-15 minutes of driving a CEL comes up. I'm wondering if it's the cable itself or the cluster and how easy is it to fix yourself.

Yup, what EfMysedan said. Need to know the CEL code. If its the speed sensor the, bad news is that you have to buy a new speedo as the sensor is in the speedo. I've had a similar issue with mine and I think mine may be wiring, so check your connections at the back of the cluster as well..
