Default SOLVED!! Can't for the life of me figure this noise out!!

It's sounds like yahtzee dice in a cup! Can't figure it out. Can't diagnose, cause car has to be in motion. If I put any pressure on the accelerator petal, it goes away. I have, spent about 7 hours over the last week just staring at it, wiggling things.., stethoscope, reving, zip ties and duck tape. Only time I can replicate it is when it's on motion. Which made me think speedometer.. also kinda sounds like it's flopping around in there. But it works perfect and it's tight with pin. Seems to be more prevalent (louder) when going down hill..
ANY ideas would be much appreciated. Once I figure it out I'll be sure to let everyone know what it was!
I made a video, it's short. You can clearly hear it..
PLEASE HELP!!
Thank you

Remove the outer CV joint on the axle, make sure the hub ring is not loose.

Those are good, broke an axle 3 weeks ago.. I made sure they were both good before getting back on the road.
Thanks for thinking out side of the box!

If your talking about the knuckle ring/dust shield, I left those off due to a clearance issue.

Put your car on jacks and (carefully and safely) put it in drive and listen.

Check the exhaust? Does it happen at a specific rpm range?

it will happen at any speed, as long as the car is on motion and no pressure on the gas pedal. All other sinereo's it makes no noise. I did have a crazy sqeek sound a few years back a k. It was the hangers on the cat. just got some new OEM rubber hangers I was waiting on installing. Can't hurt to take care of that. Exhaust is tight all around. I like the thought. Thanks!

for it to get worse, so you can find it.
I have these sometimes and I can't find them until the noise gets worse.

One was my axle. the other a tie rod.

I know,.. it either gets to the point where it drives you nuts or you feel it's a safety thing. Eventually you get around to it one way or another.. I'll figure it out. It's gonna be something dumb.

From a Honda guru that rode in my car, and I think it may be the same thing you experienced, he stated it is a loose bolt behind the dash that is nearly impossible to get at without pulling the dash apart. He said it becomes loose and rubs on the firewall or maybe some other plastic piece back there.

Second, and me not being a guru, I know my shifter will let out a little rattle as you drive if you are not holding onto it. Next time you’re in the car keep your hand on the shifter and see if it goes away.

If the yahtzee cup is indeed “the bolt” behind the dash, you are on your own there. I just drive faster with the windows down or turn up the radio during inclement weather.

My car had a strange noise coming from the driver side engine area. Only in third gear around 4k rpm

It was a loose bolt on the fender.

ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.

fixing another issue (brake bleed) I decided to check the body bolts.. sure as 5h*+, it was slightly loose... Front beam main bolt. Passenger side.. that means when they took the d16a6 out of my car and replaced it with a d16y7, they dropped the bean to get to the rear engine mount. Then, didn't use new bolts. That's probably why the head gasket blew and Bent the valve stems, Old *non re-usable* bolts... Thanks dudes! Anyway drove it 20 miles now... No sound!! Thanks, for real, to all those that helped out. Hope this helps someone in the future.

Congrats! Glad you discovered the problem and are no longer plagued by the thoughts. Trouble is I loosened the rear crossmember bolts when I did a ZC swap on my car. That rear motor mount bolt is impossible otherwise.
Now I'm going to be imagining a rattle when driving! At least I'll know where to look if I don't forget this thread.

THE TRICK IS.. if your standing in the engine bay, you can get at that bolt.. take it off after the engineers out then, put it back in before the engine. But I know man, that probably the hardest bolt to get to on the ef's.. thanks for the congrats, and yeah, huge weight off My mind!!
