clicking noise.. help plz
im stumped about this one, i have a click noise under my car. it comes from the front right. ive replaced/removed the following with no luck:
- removed all heat shields
- new cat, w/ flex hose from header
- new intermediate pipe
- new left side (long) cv axle
im thinking it is the right cv axle.. im at the point where i need to find exactly what it is because ive spent too much money already. the right side cv axle looks to be okay. the boot is slightly damaged (beginning to crack) so im hoping it is just this. i should have had both replaced at the same time, but i thought the other one was fine. could this be the rack & pinion at all? im stumped.
it generally happens when turning, or braking hard..
its not a consistent noise, it will just happen everynow and then. originally i thought it was my cat or something hitting the ground, but everything was replaced yesterday... so i dunno..

Re: clicking noise.. help plz (neilff)
Well if your right cv axle is already slightly cracked then I bet you thats probably it. Have someone drive your car and run along side it to see if you hear anything.

Re: clicking noise.. help plz (Slow-R)
If it happens during slow cornering, it is probably your cv axle... it's easy to replace and there is a great post showing detailed instructions
