Default Trunk lock not working

Alrighty I need some help. My trunk latch works as far as opening but it will not close. Iv read there is a small plastic piece that brakes a lot that controls if the trunk can close or not. The plastic brakes and thus no trunk shut. I was wondering if anybody had a picture I could use as a reference so I can see what the part looks like and where it actually fits, or if anybody happens to have that piece or a working trunk latch that I can buy. Iv put so much time and effort into this car, just got done with the rear disc brake swap, and I cant drive it because my trunk is stuck open and I have huge speed bumbs that throw it in the air if I'm going more then 1mph.

........I swear if this works......thank you so much in advance I know it's going to work. I looked them up and it should be perfect. I tried to make shift a piece and it almost worked but it was just a hair shy of closing.

Any idea what spring clip would fit? I just went to the store and the ones I got are to long and not thin enough

Are you talking about the issue discussed in this thread from less than a month ago? Your description of the problem sort of sounds like that, but I don't see how a spring clip is supposed to fix it...

I unfortunately do not know how a spring clip could help. I have an update though. I found a trunk latch that was working and paid 10$ yay. Put it in put the hatch down pop plastic broke. Back to square one. We took my old one busted it open and got the latch out, took side cutters and took a piece of the hard white plastic and cut it up until it fit on the little arm/hourglass shape and it worked I'll get a pic soon to show.
