Please help my motors in my car an I need to get this done really dont want to remove motor to do it! What can I do all 3 bolts need to be helicoils can I fit a side angle drill has anyone done this while the motors in car?

theres a handheld you can use to turn the bit by hand. slow but it works.

 

an I wouldn't have to take the motor out I'm at 400hp turbo gsr so I dont want it to happen again I only had 2 bolts to begin with man

you would want something like this, but I believe you need a half inch shank, not 3/8”.

Whatever you do, just go slow.

You could try lowering the motor to gain enough clearance...worst case, undo everything and pull it out...

 

There are some right angle drills on the market that should fit the space restraints. Also instead of helicoil you should check out Time-sert. Heli coils dont even compare. Time-sert is pricey but its a strong permanent repair. Its a threaded steel insert that ends up being stronger than the factory aluminum threads. And you dont have to worry about it coming out if you take the bolt out like a helicoil.

 

that might work, just take your time and spray wd40 and check depth or else end up with 3 more oil drain bolts

You can put the drill bit in a tap holder and turn it by hand. The metal is aluminum and you're not removing much. Going at it freehand with a power drill can cause damage.

 

1999 gsr timing belt is riding towards the front the the gears is that okay
