Default How to check TPS?

I have a feeling my TPS might be receiving erratic readings. How do I go about testing this with a multimeter?

Use a few T pins to aide in back probing the sensor.
Verify input voltage is correct. 5V
Verify output voltage is linear through full sweep. Turn ignition to II(ON) and slowly open/close throttle. If there is erratic or dead spots the TPS may be done. ~.5V(closed)-4.5V(WOT)
Verify the ground terminal is actually grounded.
