Bad TPS?
So I am thinking my TPS is bad. I haven't checked it with a volt-meter because its cold and I am lazy. However, I am pretty sure its bad. Here are the symptoms, let me know what you think.
Car Info;
99 Civic Ex 168k on the clock, new parts (all oem)
plugs, wires, cap, rotor
radiator (bleed coolant for 45+ mins)
fuel pump / filter
IACV (replaced due to severe hunting and surging, bleed coolant 45+)
If I try to hold speed around 32 or so mph the car shutters badly
Sometimes at start up the rpm hunts up and down a few times before settling
If I take my foot off the gas the rpms dont usually drop right away, for example; I was going about 45 mph on a mostly flat (very slight decline) road, took my foot of the gas and the rpms held at 2k, the car was barely slowing down, it felt like it was still under power. I also notice this when I am braking, it still feels like the car is getting power.
I am guessing its the TPS that needs to be replaced.

You will be checking voltage at the TPS... when you turn the key on, it doesn't matter where the battery is located as long as it is connected.
If your talkin about hooking the terminals to the battery to check, you could run a long speaker wire but I don’t see anything wrong with using another battery not connected to the car for terminal connection, but make sure it’s got good voltage.
update I put on my old Tb aftermarket with the old gasket and connected the tps correctly and fires up and idles good maybe I didn’t connect the tps well on the old one or the gasket holes are different
