no crank no start accord help
I have a 2000 Honda accord , last week I was leaving work and the car did not crank at all , all lights inside fine and nada.
I have replace the battery, starter and ignition switch trying to fix this problem and no luck. if I jump from the battery to the starter and the key on the on position the car starts no problem.
ignition 1 = no lights just the shime sound
ignition 2 = all lights on dash , radio , clock everything normal
ignition 3 = when I go to run nothing happens
do have the brake light on dash that stays on even after I put the hand brake down .
thanks

If your Accord is manual transmission it could be the little rubber grommet that won't allow 12V to go to the starter solenoid unless the clutch is pressed in. I think the automatics have something similar, but I don't know about it. With a multimeter, or maybe just a light, you can easily check to see if the 12V is getting to the solenoid. If it's not, then the trouble is on the driver's side of your Accord. When those grommets disintegrate suddenly, you might even find its remains in the foot well near the pedals. On the older ones, it looks like little pieces of a bluish crayon. Not sure about 2000 year.
I also have a 2000 Accord SE and am having the same issues. Dash lights work, but no crank. Battery and all is fine, but have not replaced my ignition switch yet. Have you checked the 100 Amp fuse in your fuse box under your hood that requires being screwed in? My friend has the same car and these problems and that was his. Sadly it’s not for me. But try it maybe it’ll work.
First thing I would do is check the rubber grommet on your clutch pedal that pushes in the "Starter Inhibitor Switch". If that switch doesn't get pushed in then your vehicle won't crank, all lights will work, just no voltage to the starter motor. If that checks out okay, I would look at the remote wire on your starter under the hood and see if it has any shorts or it's not making good contact.
