Default Troubleshooting: No spark from 1.6 litre after initial startup

Installed a time-sert into my buddy's 94 civic 1.6. Installed no issues and fired right up. Noticed an issue with a plug wire and pulled it out while running. Obviously engine misfired slightly but then completely died which I thought was odd. Wouldn't start back up . Found plugs to be fuel fouled and changed them. Checked for spark from wires and from coil and no spark now. Checked all fuses under hood and under dash-all good . Didn't have my voltmeter so couldn't test for power to the distributor. Is it possible the ICM crapped out when I pulled the plug wire? What else should I test?

You probably blew the coil by pulling the wire while it was running.

Basically if you have 12v+ to the black wire with yellow stripe on the dizzy plug with ignition on and the cam is turning the distributor and no spark it's more then likely a bad coil. You can do a resistance test on the coil terminals to determine that it failed. These parts are just getting super old and aftermarket coils fail just as often as old parts. If you wanna play it safe just replace the whole distributor with a known working dizzy and it should fire right up.
