I purchased an Exospeed SR909 camshaft from another member a few weeks back. Got around to installing it today, and was having a hard time telling the difference between the cam I received and my stock unit.
Can someone familiar with the Exospeed cams tell me if the cam I received is correct? Side by side I'm having a hard time telling the difference.
I did go ahead and install it anyway, its running OK but I can't tell much of a difference right now.
Below are some images of the 2 cams, the Exospeed cam is on the right, stock on the left.
they 'look' the same to me as well.
Regrinds that add lift have material removed on the large base circle/heel end (opposite of the lobe/nose).
To know for 100%, you should measure the lobes and see if they have the same profile.
Thanks... looking at the lobes closest to a bearing surface I can't see a difference, but you are right about measuring. I'd need to get a caliper gauge to be sure.
Are performance cams typically this close, visually? I don't have any past experience with D16 cams.
