My check engine light came on and its flashing code 22 (22 VTEC Oil Pressure Switch defective circuit or unplugged / defective oil pressure switch) I have a 98 civic ex automatic non vtec. Everything stock! Why does this code keep coming up?

I checked that...it is the original ECU..p2p for automatic

 

Ummm... this means that the non-vtec engine does not match with the original VTEC ECU. Buy the correct ECU for your engine and wire harness.

P2P is for the D16Y8 VTEC engine.

This VTEC engine ECU will throw VTEC codes when used with a non-VTEC engine (D16Y7?).

Did you mean D16Y8, which is a VTEC engine? If so, why does your original post state that the car has a non-VTEC engine?
