01 GS solo classing
Picked up a 2001 Integra GS 2 weeks back with the purpose of SCCA and local HPDE events. Right now I am working on just the maintenance but before I go down the rabbit hole I wanted to check classing.
Right now it is a stock 01 gs b18. It does have a cold air intake and front strut bar. My plan is to do hardrace bushings with a possible ITR rear trailing arm conversion as the shocks and arms are cheaper that way (buying arms with bushings from hardrace) and some new wheels. I am eyeballing 15x8's from 949

I'm not super up-to-speed on SCCA autox rules at the moment, but the CAI would take you to STX. Bushings (as long as they're not metal) are okay in STX but I don't think the ITR RTA conversion is legal. Not sure if that would kick you up to SP or SM, but I think it kicks you up to SM.
I think ITR arms move you all the way up to Prepared. If you're just going to run local events I don't think anyone would hassle you about running in STX with the control arms changed. You'd be pretty quickly protested if you went to a national level event though. Might be able to sneak it in SP if you can convincingly claim it's for reliability, I haven't heard of shock bushings wearing out though. That's also the same for any non-stock type control arm (aluminum, etc.)
STX is a pretty good prep level for a reliable DE car that sees the road. Lets you do coilovers, sway bars, bushings, engine bolt ons. You can't backdate to an OBD1 ecu for tuning, but an AFC would be legal.

I was afraid that would be the case. The main reason Im swaying that way is hardrace sells the arm with bushings which I really like. Maybe I will just pull mine and have them pressed in ugh.
id just buy new OEM ones. apparently they use the same rubber as the ITR stuff

i suppose you'd have to really get in touch with your local SCCA and find out what they will let slide.
for what its worth i had a local garage press in new bushings for under a 100 bucks

Replacement control arms for vehicles having integral bushing/arm as- semblies must be standard manufacturer parts as per Sections 12 and 13.0
From what I am reading itr arms are oem standard manufacturer parts?
Usually rules like that mean standard to the make/model/trim level of your car. Updating/backdating is sometimes allowed, but from what I've seen not typically across models or trim levels. But I'm far from an SCCA rule book expert. That said, unless you're competing nationally, I doubt anyone would say anything about the ITR arms.
