RHD '93 EG6 AC lines, R12 or R134A?
I know on US Civics 92-93 are r12 94-95 are r134a.
i have a 95 EJ1 i bought a rhd clip for and Id like to install the AC afterwards. The clip is from a '93 EG6. I cant find anywhere what year Japan switched to R134a as Ive heard EG R12 and R134a lines are different sizes.
I do not have a compressor, condensor, or dryer to test fit the lines to. I only have all the behind the dash stuff and all the bay wiring for AC. They were kind enough to throw in all the lines.
anyways it would be fantastic of somebody knew so I will know which conponents to buy for it.
Thanks, Toki

If you read the very next sentence after the one that you highlighted you will see I DO have the lines. I just have no compressor, condensor, or dryer. My whole question is would rhd ac lines from a '93 EG6 be r12 or r134a. I need to buy the 3 components I mentioned but i do not know if I need r12 or r134a components
thanks..
thanks..
The ban on R-12 was agreed to by the USA and Japan at the same time. But it took effect midway through the 1993 model year, so for example there are some US built 1993 Fords with R-12 and others with R-134a
I thought the only difference in the 5th generation Civic system was the service ports, and the use of barrier hose for the R-134a rubber hoses. Most likely you plan to run it with R-134a which means you want barrier hose.
If you have the two rubber lines with the service ports, you would know if it was originally R-12 or 134a and order the other parts to be sure to match.

they gave me the 2 lines that run from the firewall. One to the compressor and the other to the dryer. The other 2 lines, dryer to condenser and compressor to condensor are exactly the same as lhd I checked part numbers.
Anyways, i have no LHD Ac parts at all except the evaporator behind the dash, i gutted it all back in 2010 when I did my H22 swap. I didnt realize i could retain AC in my younger days. Anyways I guess I could check and see if one of these RHD lines will fit into my lhd evaporator port.

Even the evap is backwards and forwards compatible. The main difference is the bolt size on one of the fittings. It's different. Here's a quote from a user in my cabin filter retrofit thread:
Sadly, I also question the wisdom of RHD swaps. So much effort for so much loss in utility.
I just finished retrofitting a 1997 CRV cabin filter into my 1992 Civic. Is it possible to do a swap in a 92 or 93 civic that used R12. Only thing different is that the you will have to use the old 92-93 Civic thermostat in the 97 CRV evaporator assembly. Also, the bolt for the low port side that goes into the evaporator will have to be switched to a M6x35mm bolt. I bought the bolt at the hardware store along with a washer and a locking washer. Other than that, everything else applies when doing the retrofit.
