So I just recently purchased a ys1 cable trans with a spoon sports lsd. I was wondering do I really have to use the spoon sports speedometer gear or can I use my cable vss or hydro vss. And can I use the spoon sports lsd into my hydro s80 gsr trans.

 

Plate diffs almost always require a special drive gear for the VSS. I don't think a stock YS1 or GSR VSS will work. You can install the special Spoon shaft/gear into either VSS you have now I believe.

 

You cannot use your OEM gear, you have to use the Spoon gear. You can use the LSD in a hydro trans.
