Default Vtec will not activate

Hey guys,
Recently I went to my tuner to get my fresh b16 turbo tuned. But i ran into an issue and we could not get vtec to engage. You can hear the cross over but It does not pop up on his software that it is working. I have the pressure switch deleted. I just have one wire from my vtec solenoid to my ecu in section A4. Do i need to do something about the plugged pressure switch?
Also I do not have a vtec distributor on my car, not sure if that makes a difference or not. My speedo does not work, along with I have a oil light on, but im on neptune.. Im looking for any input to try anything. I almost know for a face that the head is assembled correctly. But i would like to try a few things before I tear her apart.
Thanks in advance.

Unless you "trick" the ECU in the tune, you need the VSS to work, your oil light cannot be ON and the distributor could be contributing to the failure.

The pressure switch is how the ECU detects the VTEC status. With stock software, if the switch does not trip after the ECU commands VTEC on, it throws VTEC code and goes to limp mode. This is because inadequate oil pressure in the VTEC LMAs will cause only partial engagement and damages the valvetrain.

Anyone calling themselves a "tuner" should know that.

It's also unwise to run the engine at all if the main oil pressure is so low that the oil light comes on.

Oil light on, VTEC Pressure switch deleted, sounds like you're kinda asking for problems there. Have you checked what your oil pressure is actually at?

Hmm.. Maybe he didn't do that.. My distributor wouldn't fit with the sensor there.. Maybe I will have to get a new dissy and put the sensor in..
And I just remembered I forgot that i deleted the oil pressure sensor and replaced it with a gauge.. Thats why its on im assuming.

Explain what you mean by delete the oil pressure sensor and replaced it with a gauge.

If the wire that went to the original oil pressure switch on the back of the block now isn't connected to anything, the "oil" light should stay out. That circuit only goes to the dashboard light. It does not involve the ECU.

do you have enough oil in the engine?

why delete the pressure sensor.. i guess there is your problem.i thought the ecu needs the "go" form the oilpressure sensor to activate the vtec solenoid
