Default Thoughts on LS

I’ve been out of the car game for awhile and I’m getting back in it. I’ve been looking for a GSR.The problem I am having as I’m sure everyone is having now a days is trying to find one that hasn’t been beat the hell out of. Only ones I have found that haven’t been are GS or LS. My goals for the engine is 400hp in the GSR but if I were to go with an LS what would I be missing in terms of drivetrain ? Do I lose anything handling wise as well ? What would it take $$$ wise to achieve the same goal in an ls vs an gsr ? Any feedback is appreciated !

So, you're looking for an unmolested GSR, so you can molest it?

Just find the cleanest lowest mile LS integra and put a simple turbo kit and tune it, It will make 300 to 400 depending on your mods and turbo. LS engines and Turbos make great power together no need for the GSR at all!!!

How does the transmition and internals of the LS engine hold up with the extra power ?

LS transmissions are fine. Differentials are weak but if it blows up just get a GSR transmission used.

I wouldn't go too much past 300whp on a stock LS. Tons of variables though. Tuner, supporting mods, etc...

are we speaking strictly on the transmission or the engine as well ? Besides just get an gsr transmission what gearing could you go with instead ? Also the engine what is a suggestion on upgrades for power on the LS to really be able to handle the extra load ?

GSR gearing is good for most turbo builds.
I wouldn't tear into the motor until you figure out what you really want. Like earlier, stay around 300whp for a stock block.

LS setup is fine, both engine and transmission. I had a LS-t setup a few years back and made almost 400HP/300TQ, fully built of course. As for transmission, no mods except for an ACT HDSS clutch and resurfaced flywheel.
