Integra LS
My buddy just got a LS last night. He was looking for a GSR for the last 2 months but couldnt wait anymore and just got an LS. What should be his first Mod? How much would a Turbo kit go for? How much would it cost to convert it to LS/Vtec?
It does not cost more to build an LSVTEC than it does to swap in a GSR. It will cost about the same, but remember, your LSVTEC will be fully built....the GSR swap will be stock.

LS has 142 hp stock. People say it is better for turbo stock because of its lower compression ratio. It is 9.2:1, as opposed to 10.0:1 for the GSR, and 10.6:1 for the Type R. Now, the more compression you have, the more power you will make, but its harder to tune against detonation. For the average joe, low compression is safer to run boost on...its easier to tune out detonation..its not power that blows engines, its detonation that kills them. With proper tuning, higher compression is fine, and you will make loads of power.
Depends on your boost level and their mods. But an LS at 8psi will spank a gsr or ITR if they are stock.
hp gain is based on how your car is tuned and how well is has been installed. you can spank the bolt-on competition easily with 5lbs. for gsrs its safe to boost up to 7lbs safely. after that.. it gets risky.
true, higher compression engines make more power "at the same amount of boost vs. a lower compression engine"... but compare a LS turbo with 9lbs safely vs. a GSR turbo with 7lbs safely. who do you think will win? LS TURBO... enuff said.
