Turbo setups (200-215hp) for stock daily B18b1?
Hey guys, I see a lot of people looking to make big numbers for their cars. I'm new to setting up turbos, and I want a sleeper civic sedan that isnt too fast but will give ya a good surprise. Swap has been in the car for about a year and runs with about 150k miles on it now, all stock except intake..I don't beat on the engine too hard and I maintenance it often, she runs cherry but could use some boost at the top end! I know going turbo reduces reliability already as it is, but I need a little speed boost for when I want to have a little fun. Looking to make 200-215hp. Just need advice on turbos and other parts that are well made, without breaking the bank too hard for this little project. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
best advice.....read up on having a turbocharged Honda. It's nice to have a boosted daily Honda but be prepared to have issues, when they arise. I wouldn't boost it if it's your only means of transportation. I learned that the hard way on my old setup.
My daily driver has been boosted for over 20 years, granted I’ve swapped engines a few time, but never because of turbo damage. Find a good quality kit with a mild boost level (5-7psi) adds a nice amount of reliable power. Only thing you might need to change would be the fuel pump and possibly the clutch under 8psi
