2005 Civic EX - ECT switch bad after replacing
Hello
I noticed my car was overheating when I came to a stop. After some diagnostics it proved to be the ECT switch. I replaced the switch and it ran fine. After 2 weeks of running well I noticed it was overheating again when stopped or moving at slow speeds and again my diagnostics point to the ECT as the problem. What could cause this to go out 2 weeks after replacing? I believe this is just a dry contact temperature switch that just closes a connection when a certain temperature is reached.

Directly hooked up 12V to the fans and they kick on. Fuses are good. Jumpered the connector going to ECT switch and turned on AC and fans kicked on (same diagnostics I did a month ago and it was in fact the ECT switch). I believe the car is overheating because my engine temperature gets very very hot when stopped or moving slowly then cools back down to normal operating temperature when moving above 50mph.
