b18c swap into a 1996 civic ek
my son and I swapped a b18c into a 1996 civic ek. everything is hooked up but I"m not getting spark or fuel. I have checked all the grounds and replaced the main relay. we are using the stock wiring harness as the original motor was a y8 vtec. any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Your civic is an obd2a, you need an obd2a ecu. Another thing to check is that thermostat ground because it provides a ground for the main relay and the ecu to prime fuel and let the ecu fire the injectors.
If you're not getting spark you need to find out why your harness isn't powering the distributor.

When you turn the key to the position before crank does the check engine light come on for around 2 seconds and then turn off (indicates main relay is activated) or does it come on and stay solid?
We sorta figured it out. It was the main relay. But the jumper harness we got was obd2b to obd1. We hooked up the original ecu directly to the car and started, but like crap lol. My son is getting a p73 Obd2a spoon ecu for $100 bucks. So that should solve everything.
