B18c type r swap into ek troubles
Hey guys im new on here.
Ive been having problems getting my b18c started in my 96 dx. This is my first swap so im learning as i go. i am running a stock b18c type r with a jdm p73 obd2a.
i have no fuel pressure or spark. i cant even hear the fuel pump. when i first tried to start it, there was spark and fuel pressure but my dumbass forgot to ground the ecu. so that didnt start. but now that i found out that my ecu ground wasnt in i bolted it up and now there is no fuel or spark. i checked the main relay and 2 fuses for the fuel pump and they are all good. im also using the stock y7 harness by just pluging in VTS and knock sensor. i was also told that jdm ecu doesnt read crank sensor and VTP.
Can anyone give me some advice on what i should do? i was thinking about getting a conversion to obd1.

Check that all grounds are sufficient. The engine harness ground at the thermostat housing is of particular interest as often it contributes to problems when the 10 mm bolt is loose.
Converting to Obd1 won't necessarily help to pinpoint your problem.
All grounds have to be checked in these cases. Trans to chassis, thermostat ground, battery ground.
Perhaps you could provide more details and we can help you get to the bottom of this. Is the starter turning over?

A multimeter serves as an excellent trouble shooter...I especially enjoy using the continuity tester as it helps to indicate solid grounds.

yes the starter is turning over, everything is tdc
i used all the ground from the old d series you think that might be it?
and i still cant figure out why the fuel pump isnt making any noise, i swap a new walbro 255 into it too.
everything seems like it should plug nd play, its all obd2a.
also jdm motors that are obd2 dont have crank sensors too right? that means the jdm ecu should not look for it.

Get a multimeter and learn how to use it. Ask any grandpa and he will school you. We cant help you until you help yourself. The first requirement for performing troubleshooting is resourcefulness. If you aren't resourceful we can't help diagnos the weird stuff.
Here are likely problems:
- ignition switch
- main relay
- grounds
- painted interruptions to grounds
- ecu problems
- blown efi related fuses
