Default changing brake line

I just moved to Maryland and have to get my car inspected here and apparently they didn't like my brake line having a splice in it. The previous owner did that to take car of a rusted section of the brake line and VA state inspection never said anything about it. So I have to replace a whole brake line before I get it re-inspected. My question is, do I have to drop the front sub-frame? Doesn't the brake line run in between the subframe and underbody of the car to get to the engine bay? If it makes any difference, I have an RS so no ABS from the factory.

you don't need to drop the subframe. theres places for it to disconnect. just replace the section that's bad.
....more advice. move back to the US so you don't have rediculous inspections

When did I say I moved out of the US? Maryland is very much in the United States. Anyway, I don't think there's a place to disconnect it. The brake line (or as it should be) is one continuous section from firewall to rear of car. I was just wondering if it's possible to snake it out from above the subrame or if it's easier to just drop it.
