Rear wiper delete problem

Rear wiper delete problem
I searched honda-tech on how to do the rear wiper delete. Very easy to remove. I ordered the oem rubber grommet part #91617-sb6-000. I removed the wiper assembly and when i install the rubber grommet it doesnt fit. It goes right through the hole in my hatch glass. The window is oem honda and the wiper assembly grommet fits snug and works fine. What is the problem here? Thank you

Not sure what the problem is, but what are you planning on doing with the old wiper assembly? Mine was deleted when I picked up the car and was looking into putting it back

Thats the same plug i have. The bottome ring/lip goes right inthe hole with no resistance. Do i epoxy or silicone it in the hole? Or any other options before i put the panelse back in and say screw it

I took the one out of the firewall near the battery but it fits the same way. Is there another oem setup thats 3 pieces with a nut and bolt or something?

Run a thin bead of black silicon around the underside of the "lip", plug into hole in glass, let silicon set dry, use thumb to "roll" off any "overflow", your done.
FYI, there is no "wiper delete" grommet, [dummy plug], what is being sold are just dummy grommets, you can probably do better at a local boneyard, [PicknPull] just look for dummy plugs in other then Honda/Acura cars, you can most likely find one that is a perfect fit, one that actually, "snaps" into place tight enough that it would need to be forced out. 94

Re: Rear wiper delete problem
Did u also get the bolt and bolt seal when u ordered the rubber grommet? If not u also need
90301-sr3-000. Bolt seal,
90108 or 90156-sr3-000 Bolt.
It will all make sense if u have those parts along with 91317-sb6-000

Re: Rear wiper delete problem
92-95 Civic hatchbacks that didn't come with a rear wiper have a metal plug, a rubber grommet, and bolt/washer.
Looks like these are the part numbers

Re: Rear wiper delete problem
im having the same problem. Have this 91617-sb6-000 which everyone uses it fine. The under lip is not big enough to grip onto the glass.
