Help!! I cant fit my cv axle into my hub.
i was recently replacing the 2 studs i broke off the front, passenger hub. I never did this before and i thought i had to remove my axle. After i found out that i didnt need to do that at all, i was redt to put everything back together. I have a good axle that fit perfectly into the transmission and hub. It fits into the trans but not the hub, it stops half way through, i cant put the nut on to pull it through. It came out with easy, now it doesnt want to go on. I tried just about everything. Help me please!!
Take it out and try again? Along the lines of what holmesnmanny said, when you take it out check if the CV popped out. Also, make sure that it is actually in the transmission...there's a circle clip that makes it a little hard to pop it in at first.
You're saying that you can't put back the same axle you took out?
Clean up the splines. Take it out of the hub then try putting back in a different rotational position.
As @holmesnmanny said, any time you're working with CV axles, be careful not to over-extend the inner joint because it will fall apart inside if pulled out too far..

The thing should go back in where it came from ... so my first guess is rust and crud buildup in the splines. How's she look in there, OP?
