Check for the code on you cylinder head. It should be stamped KYS

 

run the vin.
no vin? how do you know its from a 98 ex?

its D16Y6 ENGINE and the engine had selnoid vtec but no vtec pressure switch only screw and the ECU code is 37820-P2M-Y51

Yes you have a VTEC engine, but a part has been removed. It's not going to work properly without that part.
