I have a 97 honda accord 2.2L. My woodruff key broke while driving. Luckily only going 5 mph in traffic. Belts came loose immediately and car shut off.. Took all apart but i cant get the woodruff key to go all the way in. It sticks out 1/2" how do I get it to seat properly. A Honda tech told me just cut it down but that doesn't make sense.

The key does stick out a bit, as long as it does not stick out past the crank pulley damper you should be fine.

 

Is it the correct key..one side shpuld be half mooned and that side goes toward the crank...
