I got my Prelude 2001 engine swap last year from a mechanic. Looking at the block, it is H22a4 head on H22a block [I think the bottom is from a Honda Accord SIR]. When I started driving last year, the engine light came on.

This year I brought it back because I need an emission test. He could not fix it and said something is wrong with the EVAP.

Brought it to the dealership and after two days of checking, they said it's the ecu.

Did this swap ruined my ecu? What ecu should I get? HELP

 

you dont know what parts the guy changed from previous engine?

you cannot mix usdm vs jdm electrics then engine light is on because the electrics are little bit different

what code youre getting?

 

The dealership said something was wrong with the EVAP by using the Obd2 scanners, but they checked everything and said ecu was getting power but couldn’t process code. Basically they’ve saying ecu.

What should I do?

 

find a someone who knows what hes doing and check the code - or then try to find out what sensors there is now, which ecu and which block

no one can help you without better info...

dealerships dont usually know c-rap about engine swapping if mixing jdm/usdm parts so if theres mixed usdm/jdm parts/electrics which wont work together they dont have a clue

your mechanic is the key here who did the swap
