If you are running a stock ecu that is looking for EGR, it WILL throw a code, and it WILL(not) cause limp mode if not corrected. If you are running a chipped ecu or engine management system, it is easily turned off.

It won't cause limp mode on an OBD1 set up. I wouldn't think it'd cause limp mode for an OBD2 since it's only an emission problem.

Ah I could have sworn it caused limp mode as well, since everyone was working so hard to fix EGR systems. I guess it is just for emissions testing. I haven't had EGR on my car for years haha.
