motor swap help!!!! Please
ok here's what what happened. Over this past summer I swapped out my d16y7 for a d16y8. I got the motor cheap!! Thats why I did it. Well anyways, my car was running fine for a while but now the temp out side has dropped it runs like ****. When it feels like starting it idles for a min. then just shuts off. But if I hit the gas it backfires and the rpms go up and down irregularly!! The computer also makes a clicking noise too when it runs crappy!! I changed the plugs and also bought a nother computer thinking that the computer was shot. I tried to pull codes but maybe I did it wrong. Any suggestions??
do you know how to jump the wires to get the code? if not there is a thread on here i think a couple of days ago(search on this one).
if you know how to jump it ,scratch what i just said....turn your car on to ACC, then jump the wire and see the CEL blink
one long blink means 10, numerous short blink means 1 each(ex.six sort blink means six-----one lone blink and two short blink means 12)
also....if you have mulitple codes, there will be a long pause before the next one starts
and all codes repeat itself.....so you will get it after a couple of time(i'm not saying that you dont know all of this stuff...)
hope this helps...

well, this is how you check for cel. under passenger dash (right by the door, but under dash). you should see a green rubber thing with 2 plugs (1 has 2 wires and the other has 4 i believe). take the plugs out from the green rubber thing. than use a paper clip and connect the two plugs together and do what the guy aboe said!!
this page should help you if you're confuse http://hondata.com/techecucodes.html it has the codes too!! enjoy
