Assistance requested: DC5 Integra-Need guidance on Hondata Management
Have purchased a Type R Integra DC5 and it's full of Hondata stuff. Problem is no one here can tune it or check the tune as it's from Interstate. I raced Time Attack last weekend and won first day out but I need to be sure it's running ok. Is there a way I can check the tune myself with a computer at the track?
I'm in with a crowd of guys that rent a shed together and there's one guy who can assist me but where to start??? What computer and gear do I need?
Can anyone here assist with getting me started?

Full of Hondata stuff? Do you mean it has K-Pro and possibly a thermal gasket? Because, that's all that Hondata makes.
You may want to try the manufacturer's website next time, for help tuning.

PS. If you have K-Pro, the stock ECU will have a notch trimmed out on it for a USB port (Type-B USB, just so you know). You'll need a Type-A to Type-B USB cable to plug-in to a PC or Laptop.

toyomatt84 I'm asking for assistance. I'm not here for you to embarrass me. This is my first Honda and I'm diving into the deep end with this car. And I'll give it all the respect I can muster because it's a quick bit of kit. So can please not reply to any of my posts.
2) the only reason nobody else has replied is because he said exactly what everyone else would say. He DID help answer your questions, in full.
3) accept it. or don't. But truth is, there are no other answers to your questions besides everything he stated
4) he wasn't attempting to embarass you. He told you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Don't get in a hissy fit over it.
I'd get used to the blunt nature of his response. Because it happens a lot. Like if you said you wanted to put headers on your honda, I'd correct you and say HeadeR*, because it only has one. And if you said you want to put cams in your Chevy LS engine on a chevy site, someone would correct you and say it only has one cam.
Agreed with above.
Your best bet is to find out what "Hondata stuff" you actually possess first. (Photos of the ECU in the car, any "hardware" sticking out of it. etc.)
Then if your question can't be answered there, you need to contact Hondata themselves, and discuss what you think you want to do. Either way, you're going to need a laptop, software (you may have to get it from them), in order to view your current parameters.
If you've won your division and the car is running fine after all of that driving, chances are you're ok, and to not mess with it.
Honda Tech is a very "matter-of-fact", "Tell it like it is, community". There's nothing personal against you, nor is nothing gained by purposefully ridiculing you. We just get this a lot, and tend to answer questions, quickly and efficiently. But we can only answer based upon what you show/tell us. That's it.
I hope this isn't discouraging, as we want to help, but you also need to start by helping yourself know what you have. The information is there. One simply needs to find it, then come back with more specific questions.
Good luck, to you.

He doesn't know how to do that. .. Yes, the basics. He must understand the software before he can do what you're requesting.
