If you want to do your own tuning, You need Hondata 4b to have a legit copy of Rom editor, and the programmer.

Nah, I'm just a little annoyed with the number of people that have asked me to give them the password to the Rom editor software so they don't have to purchase it themselves.

Yea, I had some guy last week, new to this board tell me he was gonna look at my maps and help me figure out my hesitation problem. He wanted a copy of Romeditor to go with my maps. I told him no and sent him image files of my maps.
Have not heard back from him! Figured as much. Told me he doesn't work on Hondata stuff but has all this experience with other EMS companies and tuning them. Em....maybe he got busy but sounds like a software scammer to me. I won't mention his name in case he was legit but he never did respond to 2 of my emails after that.
Glad I didn't need him to figure this stuff out!

Re: Trying to understand how hondata works! (GruvyTune)
i plan on going half with my buddy and one of us will get a 4b and the other will get a 3b. So i want to make sure we don't occur any extra cost in programing the 3b. does the programmer come with the 4b or is that separate?

Re: Trying to understand how hondata works! (dustin)
then why do the say on the website that the "Stage 2 - Full tunability by dealer or Stage 4 owner". They should include that it requires a $270 programer. How are you able to tune the 4b with out the programer?
sorry for so many questions. tring to learn

you can tune without the programmer but it will be useless cause you need the programmer to actually make the chip!!
