Default S100 Tuning

Hey guys,
So i know s100... its old and outdated. But i have it.. I baught a turbo shell that had it already in the ecu. Anyways, ive been reading up on it and i saw where is said VTEC Control, and Rev limiter, and after it, it says (non user adjustable). What exactly do they mean by that? Are they saying I cant adjust anything? Or are they saying just the tuner can do it.. Dont really get it because couldn't i just change it on a laptop? Sorry for the stupid question. But if anyone has experience with s100 let me know.

That is not only old, but the changes you're suggesting are not simply done by a laptop.. You're in the version of what is called EPROM tuning. This is where a re-programmable "chip" is used via the S100 system, and you need other hardware to tune and program with it. This is where your tuner would have this hardware, and know what they're doing.

You could try and find the the emulator, chip burner, and special chips to program with. It's very 1980's Formula 1 style tuning. The reason why no on uses it anymore is because 1) even Hondata haven't supported that platform in about 10 years, and 2) No one keeps that older hardware anymore (or they are very few and far between), and will no longer utilize it. You can't even SELL that S100 anymore. It should be collected for a museum, or kept for nostalgia. So. There you have it.

I'll move this over to the engine management forum for you.

You can still upgrade from an s200 to the s300 for a discounted price.

Actually, No they don't. They discontinued even upgrade support for that system years ago. He's not even in S200 territory, he's still in S100 Territory. You can't just jump steps like that. Never could.

So, he can't even really sell it, unless the buyer has all of the other hardware to get it to work.

TheShodan, are you sure ??? I know I have witnessed my tuner upgrade many stage/s100/s200 systems to the s300 system... even as recently as a month or two ago. Has this changed recently ???

Give them a call. YOUR tuner is not the same as the company itself. They will not support it.

*Edit* Spunkster made a correction that apparently unaware of. His statement is below.
